After Matt's first car broke down several times, and it was conclusively labeled as a 'transmission problem', he began to use my car. He paid for all of the gas, repairs, etc. He began to save up money to either a)fix the transmission - the car isn't worth that much - $1500 repair - b)buy a new car, junk the old. It was easier to save up to just fix his Le saber (especially since he loved it so dearly).
Welllllllllllllll, after his taxes, he had plenty saved up. Since the Buick doesn't run, it's been sitting in our back yard. At some point, it had been planned, that my dad would use his semi to haul his car to an automotive repair shop. Before that ever happened, my dad found two nice cars on Craigslist. A '93 Thunderbird LX and a '97 Volkswagen Jetta. I loveeeee Jetta's, ever since my mom had hers. Last night they contacted the owners of both cars and received a near-immediate response from the Thunderbird owner. They met him this morning up in Louisville, and Matt came home with a new car. Awesome, right? Dad inspected every inch and recommended to Matt that it would be a sound investment in his time and money. Good. Great. Fantastic.
Let's rewind a bit... shall we? On their way to going to get Matt's car, Matt and my dad hopped into my Infinity and began the descent down our driveway when the car malfunctioned. They made it to the veryyyyy bottom of the driveway, and the car wouldn't move. At this point, I recommend you grab your mystery solving kit, whip out your magnifying glass and go at it. Preliminary investigation of the vehicle proved to be worthwhile, as it seems that throughout the entire night, the patch of gravel beneath my car collected transmission fluid. Notice had been taken to the subsequent trail of fluid that led from that patch of driveway, down the hill, and directly underneath my car. Further investigation showed that the car had leaked every drop of transmission fluid. AND GET THIS: This isn't the first time. In fact, this exact repair had been made in the past, costing DUN DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNN $1500. BOOM. My car isn't quite worth that anymore.
Life blows.
I have the urge to punch someone in the face.
Immediately.
Volunteers welcome.
Have a nice day.
